VIRGINIA BEACH VETERANS ROWING

Here at Virginia Beach Veterans Rowing, we are driven by a single mission; to bring together and empower veterans through the sport of rowing.

Virginia Beach Veterans Rowing Inc. (VBVR) is a 501(c)(3)  organization founded in 2018. It strives to build a community that promotes teamwork and healthy lifestyles while also providing a low-impact and proven therapy method to those who have both visible and non-visible injuries.

VBVR provides no-cost coaching and is holding indoor rowing sessions at local gyms, virtual training over Zoom and recently received its first water rowing equipment. VBVR also provides no-cost rowing clinics to local military commands to help prevent injuries and improve military physical fitness scores.

Becoming a VBVR member is easy and low to no cost. Through USRowing's partnership with the Department of Veteran Affairs, all injured and disabled service members may receive a fee membership to VBVR.

In the future, through the generosity of donors, VBVR hopes to be able to provide unlimited access to rowing equipment, coaching and a year-round facility at a low cost to veterans. To give a tax-deductible donation, please visit our Facebook page where you may give with no fees! You may also email or call for our address to send a check.

USO OF HAMPTON ROADS AND CENTRAL VIRGINIA'S OUTDOOR ADVENTURE TEAM

USOHRCV’s Outdoor Adventure Team (OAT) is a peer-led health and wellness program designed for service members and their families to connect over physical challenges to encourage sustainable healthy living. OAT activities focus on four core pillar; wellness, sleep, nutrition, and resiliency, and have the adaptability and scalability to include wounded, ill, or injured service members as a supplement to their ongoing physical rehabilitation efforts. Our OAT program treats the warrior and the family as a comprehensive unit, believing that engaging together in physical activity not only provides valuable opportunities for creating lasting memories, but that these moments and shared experiences fortify against future struggles associated with the demanding needs of a military lifestyle.
